Dear Kagyu Samye Dzongs and Friends around the world.
Whether you consider I am your teacher, or you see me as your friend, I have some requests for all of you.
I ask you to do your very best to be generous and to give what you can. Christmas and New Year is a time for giving and there are many who don’t have much to celebrate. Buddha taught us to be generous so it doesn’t matter how little you feel you have; you should learn to give and share with others.
Also, I would like all of you to enjoy being with your families and friends, with kindness and compassion, being caring towards each other. Sometimes nowadays people look for faults in other people and criticise them. That is the modern sickness. It’s very good to look for other people’s qualities and kindness rather than looking for their faults.
Whoever knows me, whoever hears me, I pray that you will all be healthy and sound in body and in mind.
