Subject: Prayers for Akong Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche at Samye Dzong London on Saturday 29th April from 2pm to 5pm afternoon. Emaho!

In the next few weeks, starting this Saturday 29th April, a number of events are taking place commemorating our founder Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, as well praying for the long life and celebrating the 80th birthday of his brother, Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, Abbot of Samye Ling Monastary. On top of that we also have visits from Drupon Rinpoche and Ringu Tulku Rinpoche in June and during May we've got a few of our own courses running as well. Talk about spoiled for choice! To find out about everything that is happening, just read on. Best wishes, David Bates Newsletter Editor

Lama Yeshe Rinpoche's 80th birthday will be celebrated at the end of the 3rd UK Kagyu Monlam at Samye Ling, on Friday 2nd June. All are welcome. Would you like to Take Refuge? Many people have been asking when there will be an opportunity to take Refuge, so you might like to know that on the morning of the 3rd of June, Lama Yeshe will be holding a Refuge Ceremony at Samye Ling from 09.30 - 12.00. Full details on the Samye Ling website. Meanwhile, here at Kagyu Samye Dzong London....

A new Introduction to Meditation class starts on Wednesday 4th May, 18.30 - 20.00 pm, for four weeks, led by Joelle Peeters. On Thursdays, also from 18.30 - 20.00 pm, Lama Zangmo continues to teach on A Precious Garland of the Supreme Path. This is a seminal text by Gampopa and, like a string of pearls, each teaching has value on its own, or all together. Everyone is welcome to attend. This month's Introduction to Buddhism covers Entering the Buddhist Path. Taking refuge is the first formal step on the Buddhist path. Join Lama Zangmo on Saturday 20th May from 10.00 - 15.30 to find out what it means to take refuge. This will be particularly pertinent if you are planning on Taking Refuge with Lama Yeshe at Samye Ling on the 3rd June.
