A letter from Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and Lama Katen

Dear Friends,
Our trustees held an online meeting on Tuesday 16th June to consider the current situation with Covid-19.
The trustees feel strongly that the priority at present is to protect the health and wellbeing of residents of Samye Ling and Samye Dzongs as well as potential guests or visitors. Therefore they have advised Samye Ling and all UK Samye Dzongs to remain closed until the end of August. After this they will review the situation.
Although this means that Samye Ling will lose its income during the busiest time of year, the trustees are convinced that the safety of individuals is much more important. For as long as there is a danger that opening may cause an increase in spreading the virus, Samye Ling and Samye Dzongs will remain closed.
The trustees are aware that many people are eagerly awaiting Samye Ling opening up again and ask for your patience and understanding. We look forward to meeting you all again when it is safe to do so.
Meantime we send you our very best wishes and hope you all maintain a happy and positive frame of mind and consider this to be an excellent opportunity for practice.
On behalf of the trustees
Abbot Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche and Deputy Abbot Lama Katen
