You are warmly invited to join the Kagyu Samye Dzong Sangha and community for five days of Guru Rinpoche practice.

The Drubcho is dedicated to World Peace and to overcoming obstacles. We also dedicate it to the swift rebirth of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, the long life and increasing activity of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, as well as our Abbott Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche and all the great Masters who work tirelessly for the benefit of others.

This practice involves many prayers, music and mantra recitations as well as offerings of Tsok.

It is possible to participate through sponsoring of the daily tsok, please let the office know if you would like to make an offering towards this.

Please note, the usual Guru Rinpoche puja on the last Sunday of the month will not be happening this month.

Guru Rinpoche, otherwise known as Padmasambhava, was pivotal in bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. He helped to establish Samye Tibet's first monastery which then became an important base from which much of the Buddha's teachings were translated from Sanskrit to Tibetan by learned translators. He is considered, by Tibetans, to be the second Buddha due to the importance of his activities.

Another way of relating to Guru Rinpoche is as a guiding power which emanates from pure mind, anywhere in time and space: the universal teacher. The dialogue between disciple and guru is really the age-old interplay of illusion and truth, darkness and light, the relative and the ultimate. Guru Rinpoche is the archetypal perfect teacher: a role model.
