Bernard teaches the introduction to meditation classes that take place each Wednesday evening in the Spa Road Center. Bernard first began to study and practice Buddhist meditation whilst completing a degree in theater and arts management. At the end of his three year degree he moved to Somerset to study, live and work in a large Buddhist community. After eight years of full time study, six of which were lived as a Buddhist monk, Bernard moved to London and began to practice at Kagyu Samye Dzong London. He offered to cover the office duties of Ani Tsondru for six months in 2006 when she left the Carlisle Lane Centre to embark on a pilgrimage and retreat, but ended up working full-time in the Centre for the next two years, helping Lama Zangmo's team establish the Manor Place Centre and Spa Road Centre.
"I feel so fortunate to have met Lama Zangmo, and to have had the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful Centres that have thrived here in London. The Kagyu teachings are so practical and helpful for living a meaningful life even in the mist of a busy city like London. In my introduction to meditation classes I try to pass on the essential instructions and advice that I've received, with lots of encouragement and tips for a successful practice."
