This day is devoted to the Dorje Sempa practice and dedicated to the swift return of our precious Founder and teacher, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, and to purifying any obstacles to his swift return and to the continuation of his activities.
Vajrasattva or Dorje Sempa is the bodhisattva associated with purification practice. The Dorje Sempa practice is especially relevant in the context of Ngöndro practice.
The Ngöndro practice comprises the "Four Ordinary Foundations", which are meditations on the four thoughts that turn the mind to the Dharma, namely the preciousness of human life, impermanence and death, karma and its effects, and the sufferings of samsara. The "Four Special Foundations" are purification and accumulation practices and are: prostrations, recitations of the Dorje Sempa mantra, mandala offerings and guru yoga practice.
Please bring a copy of the Ngöndro text.
If you are not familiar with this practice, you are still welcome to come and meditate silently during the sessions. As part of practice and meritorious activity people are welcome to bring offerings of flowers for the shrine.
