Medicine Buddha instructions and practice with Lama Zangmo
WhoTeacher: Lama Gelongma Zangmo
The practice of Medicine Buddha, or Sangye Menla, is a profound Vajrayana method to engender health and well-being of oneself and others.
The Medicine Buddha Sadhana is an effective way to balance the physical, mental and spiritual health of ourselves and others. It can be of great help to all practitioners and particularly those in the medical profession. The main motivation of the Medicine Buddha was to remove the sufferings of beings in general, but especially the physical and mental suffering caused through imbalance of the elements which manifests as physical and mental illness.
Over this Sunday Lama Zangmo will give instructions on the sadhana text, the visualisations, meditations and benefits of this practice, and at 7pm there will be the monthly Medicine Buddha Puja led by the Samye Dzong Sangha.
Ideally one should have received the Medicine Buddha empowerment, however, you can still attend the instructions without the empowerment as long as you have taken Refuge. Please bring the text (available from the shop) pencil, pen and paper.
From January 2015 all our Dharma and meditation courses have been offered without a suggested course fee.
In the Buddhist tradition one practices generosity, or Dana, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. This generosity is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is an offering given freely from the heart in appreciation of the Dharma.
Please read Lama Zangmo's letter for further information.
