Earth Day - A Day on Environmental Protection for the Benefit of All
WhoAnyone is welcome to attend this event!
His Holiness 17th Karmapa said:
"As Buddhist practitioners, we believe that our actions must flow from our aspiration to benefit all sentient beings and safeguard our mother Earth and that this positive change in our societies must begin with ourselves first."
On Earth Day, 22 April 2018, Kagyu Samye Dzong London is hosting a Day on Environmental Protection for the Benefit of All.
The event will be an opportunity to learn, explore and reflect on our impact on the environment and what we can do differently. We will have a number of talks and workshops by different speakers, and although the programme is not fixed yet, we aim to cover a wide range to topics such as: Ethics in Buddhism; Interdependence; The Value of Veganism; Living without Plastic; Want Less, Waste Less; Recycling; and more...
This day is dedicated to learning about ethics and environmental protection with the aim of practically applying the values of compassion and interdependence towards the Earth and all living beings that dwell here.
