Reducing single use plastic in the Centre
Posted on 9 Nov 2019
At Samye Dzong London one of our aims is to reduce our impact on the environment. As part of that we try to reduce our use of plastics, and we would therefore like to urge course participants to please either bring their own food in reusable containers or consider ordering the vegetarian food offered in the centre's café. The majority of ready-made supermarket meals are unfortunately wrapped in non-recyclable plastic and we ask course participants to refrain from bringing those to the centre.
"As Buddhist practitioners, we believe that our actions must flow from our aspiration to benefit all sentient beings and safeguard our mother Earth and that this positive change in our societies must begin with ourselves first."
