This will be a weekend of meditation instructions with time for questions and actual meditation practice, suitable for all. During the weekend, there will be a Refuge ceremony for those people who wish to formally become Buddhists. Lama Yeshe writes:
"I think you all know that trying to practise Dharma by yourself in the city is very difficult Unless you have strong will-power and discipline, you’ll find so many excuses why you can’t practice Dharma. This is why Dharma centres in the city are very meaningful and very useful. Such centres help people living in the city to integrate the Dharma into their life. Indeed, even if they can find hundreds of excuses not to practise every day, if they can just find the time to come to the centre once or twice a week, it is still very beneficial. As you know, to practise Dharma is the way one can find inner peace.
Dharma centres welcome you and provide you with a structure, with teachers, with a place to learn and practice meditation in a beautiful shrine room, and with on-going activities, such as different sadhanas every evening. This is all very positive. As far as integrating our practice into daily life is concerned, I think Dharma centres are the only places that can re-energize you. It will give you inspiration to see other people practise or being confronted with the same problems as the ones you face yourself."
